"Fish Fashion Stars: P.E.I. Watershed Group Captures Glamorous Moments for Science!"

P.E.I. Watershed Group Captures Glamorous Moments for Science! [SWOP NEWS]

And… ACTION:

In Canada, the Prince Edward Island (P.E.I. ) Wildlife Federation is about to launch a new project, using a video camera to keep tabs on the number of grown-up fish in the West River. Counting fish might sound as exciting as watching paint dry to some, but this juicy data on our finned friends is absolutely crucial to their protection and survival. Intriguingly, the current info that this non-profit has been relying on hails from the 90s. Hard to believe that it might be a tad outdated, right?

The Outlook:

While we don’t know if any of these fin-tastic stars will gain celebrity status overnight, this technique certainly sheds light on how creative data collection mechanisms can play a major role in environmental conservation. Perhaps this could also kick-start new trends in stalker behavior, eco-friendly style of course. Now if we could only find out if the fish will start demanding their own trailers or insist on having the left portion of their tank always filled with imported French water. We're holding our breaths - unlike the fish.
